Ultrasonic Array Controller UAC128
Ultrasonic Array Controller UAC128 was developed by URG to be used primarily in ultrasonic particle manipulation systems. It is a continuous-wave FPGA-based controller featuring:
- 128 channels
- 25 kHz - 1.25 MHz operating frequency range
- sine-like waveforms (at operating frequencies <250 kHz)
- PWM waveforms (at operating frequencies >250 kHz)
- phase and amplitude control for each channel
- output voltage range up to 48 Vpp
- ethernet connectivity
Download UAC128 User Guide for a more detailed specifications. URG can also design continuous-wave controllers having different number of channels, amplification stage and other parameters. Please do not hesitate to contact us if your project needs a custom solution.
Manipulator Model D
Manipulator Model D is a demonstration unit for ultrasonic levitation/manipulation that can be driven using our Ultrasonic Array Controller UAC128. Manipulator is most suited for levitation/manipulation of EPS (expanded polystyrene) particles, however levitation/manipulation of heavier particles such as water droplets is also possible. Manipulator Model D features:
- 64 Prowave 400ST160 transducers
- 40kHz transducer operating frequency
- 30 Vpp max transducer driving voltage (continuous sine)
Manipulator’s frame is made out of black PMMA material with transducers mounted on a black PCB. The two opposing arrays are joined with a transparent PMMA rod to provide an unobstructed view for the whole manipulation region. Two multi wire cables of 1.2m length and 1cm diameter are used to connect the arrays to the array controller.
